Counting Down...

Well, I'm at 32 weeks now, and each week seems to go by faster than the last. We have a bunch of fun things coming up in the next month or two, so I know the time will really fly by until Baby Boy Walker arrives. I'm feeling great and staying active, especially with the warm weather and lots of walks and trips to the park.
Ava continues to be excited about the new addition. He is a very active little guy, and she gets lots of opportunities to feel him kicking when she sits in (what's left of) my lap. We hope it'll be a smooth transition for her when he is actually here and taking up lots of time and attention! I think the grandparents will be wonderful in being around lots to play with her or take care of the baby so we can still have one-on-one time with her, too. I do get a little sad when I have a quiet moment with Ava and realize that life, as she knows it, is going to change soon. I'm sure it'll be a change for the better in the long run, but as an only child myself, it's a little hard to imagine right now.
The nursery is pretty much ready - we just need some diapers and toiletries, and I think we're pretty much set! (It's much easier (and cheaper) the second time around). And thanks to a couple of friends who've had little boys in the past year, we're even well-stocked in the clothing department.
Here are a few recent pictures:

Easter Egg Hunt

Woodbury had its annual Easter Egg Hunt this weekend at one of the local parks. This is the first year Ava has done it, and she thought it was pretty fun. The highlights for her were probably seeing the Easter Bunny and meeting up with neighbors, Lindsay and Lauren. (The candy inside the eggs was up there on the list, too). :) The weather was cool, but bearable...isn't it supposed to be Spring now?

"Hunting" for eggs (more like picking up the first ten you see - they don't exactly "hide" them for the little kids)

Minnesota Zoo

On Friday, we planned a trip with our friends Tricia and Lily (and Baby Jack!) to the Minnesota Zoo to see the Farm Babies exhibit. It was a cool day, but as long as the sun was out, it was pretty nice, and we definitely kept warm with lots of walking (I wish I'd been wearing a pedometer!)

Here are Ava and Lily on top of the "big pig" outside the pig barn. They got to see baby pigs, along with baby sheep, goats, chicks, and cows.

She makes a cute chicken, don't you think?

Having lunch at the cafe (Jack is blowing a raspberry for us!)

We walked around the rest of the zoo (though not nearly all of it - it's huge!), and we were both exhausted by the time we left. Ava's eyes were closed before I had even left the parking lot, and she slept soundly all the way home. I was exhausted, too...sometimes I forget that I'm pregnant and should maybe take it easy a little...unfortunately, it doesn't usually hit til after the fact... :)
